Isha Foundation’s activities serve as a thriving model for human empowerment and community revitalization throughout the world. Supported by over 7 million volunteers worldwide, the foundation has initiated several large-scale social projects, most notably Action for Rural Rejuvenation, Isha Vidhya and Project GreenHands.
Isha Foundation is almost entirely volunteer run. Every single action and activity of the foundation and its worldwide centers is done on a volunteer basis. Inspired and deeply transformed by their own experience of Inner Engineering and Sadhguru, Isha volunteers seek to inspire and nurture this possibility in every person, helping them realize the ultimate potential within.
“The whole process of yoga is to give yourself. It is possible to simply sit, close your eyes and give yourself to the world. But that level of awareness is not there in most human beings. Without activity, most people may not know how to give themselves. They need action to give themselves to something. Volunteering is a tremendous possibility in that direction – you can offer yourself through your work.” – Sadhguru

“The Abode Seva experience is like nothing I have ever done before. I feel like it brought me intimately close with the creator and creation – perhaps more than daily sadhana ever has. To care for a space so powerful that changes so many lives is a tremendous privilege and I am so grateful for the experience.”
“Abode Seva was the best week of my life... Unbelievable, incredible opportunity. I feel blessed beyond any measure. Life changing, deep experience.”
“Offering Guru Pooja was simply shattering for me. As the fire kept rising in the body, my gratitude was melting me down... Experiencing the Divine in visitors was simply overwhelming. Incredible opportunity. Where else can an ordinary person spend time serving in a Temple like this!”
I know this space has settled something deep in me forever. Bliss is so palpable in the air of the ashram. I feel this space constantly moves you in a state of joyfulness. I am supercharged for the endeavors of journey ahead.
I had the great fortune of being in the ashram during Guru Purnima. Not even the wildest rock concert sees the types of crowds Sadhguru can draw (Adiyogi Alayam overflowing with 14,000 people from all over the world!) or the exuberance one can see on the faces of little old ladies dancing with abandon to Sounds of Isha. Words fail to describe the beauty and love of a Guru who offers himself and his Grace freely and without ostentation.
Getting up every morning before the sun to do my practices. Volunteering every day well after the sun has set. Giving everything I've got. It is more beautiful than I could have imagined.
The primary objective of moving to the ashram, for me, was to live in this space and make whatever Sadhguru has to offer available to more people. Being here and volunteering has significantly reduced my sense of self-preservation – removing hesitation & fear and allowing me to throw myself into whatever needs to be done.
Finding Isha Yoga Center has completely changed my life. Spending time in a consecrated space with a community of people dedicated to realizing their full potential has fast-tracked my spiritual journey and opened my eyes and heart to a vaster experience of life. The opportunities to grow and transcend my limitations have flowed, and I continue to be amazed by all the activities that happen here and the grace and professionalism with which they are conducted.
"The last few days of volunteering have been immensely powerful and liberating. Part of its power for me, was working through some really painful emotion and physical blocks. Yet, all of this was done silently and I feel much more free and lighter."
"The organization, it's activity, ashram all are too phenomenal. It has transformed my life in major way. It's a bliss to be at ashram."
"Sitting there for 15-20 minutes put me on a wonderful and beautiful mystical spiritual path to the ultimate. This a very very special place."
"Linga Bhairavi is the feminine form of divinity. Very powerful consecrated space. One can feel the grace of the divine mother." -
I have been a volunteer with Isha offering my web development services, and I find the experience to be fulfilling and gratifying.
I participated in Skill-based volunteering at Isha and found the experience very rewarding and insightful. As a side benefit, I learnt a lot, and picked up many useful skills on the way.
